The Toronto Green Community (TGC) is a grassroots organization that engages people in local environmental action for a cleaner, greener Toronto. Since 1995, we have been working on a number of environmental issues including climate change, toxic waste, atmospheric pollution, and stream water management.
Our Mission is to engage Torontonians in environmental initiatives where they live, work and play.
Our Vision is for people to live in sustainable communities with:
- Clean Air and Water
- Abundant Green Spaces
- Local, Organic food
- Minimal Waste

TGC develops & nurtures ideas to create positive change in Toronto.
- Toronto Renewable Energy Co-op established Torontos first wind turbine to distribute energy
- Auto Share Torontos first car-sharing program providing vehicle access while reducing daily reliance & therefore the effects of climate change
