Greening Toronto's Gardens PDF Print Email

Greening Toronto's Gardens is a comprehensive program that includes garden workshops and the Great Garden Adventure (GGA), a children's gardening program. This past summer, we hosted the GGA at our community garden, but also delivered the program for the Chester Le community, the Lotherton summer camp and a rooftop garden in the downtown University of Toronto campus.

Our ecological gardening workshops have been delivered to many groups across the city. In 2007, we developed and delivered a "train the trainer" manual on ecological gardening.  A total of 50 groups requested and received copies of the manual.  The second phase of manual development will see the creation of three new modules for the Train-the-Trainer manual: Container gardening for apartment dwellers, ESL in the Garden, and Food Security and Culture.
